Chimtarga Peak

Fann Mountains are beautiful mountains, with a few summits above 5000 m, culminating at Chimtarga peak (5489 m). They are located in Western Tajikistan, near the Uzbek border (and Samarkand). They usually enjoy sunny, stable weather during the summer. Narrow canyons with clear, rushing rivers, high glaciated summits, wide variety of colorful panoramas, picturesque river valleys and thousands of lakes set amongst juniper forests make this region one of the most attractive mountain regions in Central Asia.

Program:

Day 1. Arrival in Tashkent. Accommodation in hotel. Getting Tajik visa.

Day 2. Sightseeing in Tashkent. Evening flight to Bukhara. Accommodation in hotel.

Day 3. Sightseeing in Bukhara.

Day 4. Sightseeing till lunch. Transfer to Samarkand.

Day 5. Sightseeing in Samarkand.

Day 6. Crossing Uzbek – Tadjik border. Transfer to Penjikent town, lunch, sightseeing. Transfer to the mountain camp “Artuch”, accommodation in cabins.

Day 7. Beginning of the mountain part of the route. Trek from “Artuch” camp to Kulikalon lakes. Camping on the lakeside.

Day 8. Trekking from Bibijanat Lake to Alaudin lake through Alaudin pass. Camping on the lakeside.

Day 9. Trekking from Alaudin Lake to Mutnoe Lake. Camping on the lakeside.

Day 10. Trekking up to the Chimtarga peak. Camp on 4500 meters.

Day 11. Crossing Chimtarga pass. Going down to the Big Allo Lake, camping on the lakeside.

Day 12. Rest day at the Big Allo Lake.

Day 13. Trekking to the Zimtut village through the Archimaydan and Zimtut Rivers. Farewell dinner in guesthouse, overnight in guestrooms.

Day 14. Transfer from Zimtut village through Penjikent town  to the boarder, crossing the boarder, transfer to Tashkent through Samarkand, accommodation in hotel.

День 13. Transfer from Zimtut to the checkpoint “Jartepa” through Pendjikent. Crossing Tadjik – Uzbek border. Transfer Samarkand – Tashkent. Accomodation in hotel.

Day 15. Departure from Tashkent.
