Unique tour along Pamir Highway introduces you to one of the wildest places of our planet. There are only few regions in the world (Tibet and Ands) where car roads are laid through the mountains on above 4 000 m height. You will be able to see Pamir high mountains, rivers and lakes, to meet locals - Pamir people which preserved their cultural and centuries-old traditions. Tour goes through the three Central Asia republics: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.

| Day 1 | Samarkand – Pendjikent – Iskanderkul Lake
Breakfast. Drive to the border control point “Djartepa - Sarazm” 60 km. Cross to Tadjikistan. Transfer to Pendjikent (25 km). Sightseeing in Pendjikent including historical museum. Lunch. Transfer to Iskanderkul Lake (120 km). A picturesque serpentine road goes through the huge gorge along Zarafshan river. Arrival on the shore of Iskanderkul Lake. Accommodation in cottage. Walking around of Lake. Swimming. Dinner. Overnight. |
| Day 2 | Iskanderkul Lake - Dushanbe
Route to Dushanbe (130 km, 4-5 hrs route). The serpentine route goes to the Anzob Pass (3372 m). A wonderful panorama of high mountains reveals from the pass. Coming down to the Varzob gorge. Arrival in Dushanbe. Check in to the hotel. Overnight. |
| Day 3 | Dushanbe – Gyssar – Dushanbe
Full day sightseeing in Dushanbe including bazaar, historical museum, Independence square. Lunch in exotic “Rohat” tea house. Round trip to Gissar gorge (30+30 km), en route visiting of remains of medieval fortress and local historical museum. Way back to Dushanbe. Overnight. |
| Day 4 | Dushanbe - Kalaykhum
Transfer to Kalaykhum (260 km) - a little village on Pamir Highway, along the plains east of Dushanbe, where men and women are bent double tilling the fields with wood handled hoes. We pass a women in a brightly coloured dress, flicking a rope across her donkey's flanks as the dust billows up from passing traffic. The mountains bgein to loom large, cloud appears in the blue skies and a rusty red colour appears along with the greens of the plains. Cross via Khoburobod Pass (3252 m) is compensated by wonderful views. Enjoying the beautiful canyon of Tavildara. Overnight in local guest-house. |
| Day 5 | Kalaykhum - Khorog
Kalaykhum - Khorog (250 km). Transfer to Khorog - the centre of Mountainous Badakhshan. En route visit the small mountain village and introducing to locals’ way of life. Trip to Garm-Chashma hot springs and sightseeing in Khorog. Check in to the local hotel “Serena” on Gunt river bank. |
| Day 6 | Khorog - Eshkoshim
Khorog – Eshkashim (100 km). Transfer to Eshkoshim village which situated in Wakhan corridor, which separates Tajikistan with Afganistan, China and Pakistan. The road goes through the small villages. One the way we can observe the life of locals just from the bus. Eshkoshim - is a small mountain village, surrounded by mountains. Check in to the guest house. After lunch round walk to hot springs. |
| Day 7 | Eshkoshim - Langar
Eshkoshim – Langar (120 km 2-3 h). Transfer via picturesque views to Langar village. En route visit of ruins of ancient fortress. The tight canyon with steep moutains on either side eventually opens to up to reveal a wide valley with the river at its centre. At first, small oases of green offer a burst of colour in contrast to red brown earth. Larger expanses of cultivation appear. A man works the field with a plough pulled by two oxen. Women tend the fields squatting on their haunches. Surprisingly, there are poplar trees everywhere: lining the roads, marking the orchards and separating the fields. | Day 8 | Langar - Murgab
Transfer to Murgab village (240 km 2-3 h) through Alichur valley and Nayzatash pass (4137 m). The valley is situated on about 3000 m height and surrounded by snow covered mountains. En route one can observe the yurts – the abodes of locals, grazing yaks and visit the Yashilkul Lake and the Burunkul village. Arrival in Murgab. Murgab - is a small village near the Chinese border, the most remote district centre of former USSR. From here you can see the Muztag-Ata (7546 m) the dominant peak of the region is revealed. Check in to the guest house. |
| Day 9 | Murgab – Kyzylart – Sary Tash
Murgab – Kyzylart (border point Tajikistan/Kyrgyzstan) – Sary Tash village (Kyrgyzstan) (180 km 4-5 h). Transfer across Ak-Bital high pass (4652 m) on Pamir mountains to picturesque Kara-Kul lake. Introducing to local people, walk along the lake. Across Kyzyl-Art pass (1280 m). Go down to Tajik-Kyrgyz border through Alay valley. Crossing the border. Here the best panorama of Alay and Za-Alay ranges with ever ice peaks, including Lenin Peak (7134 m) reveal. Then route to Taldyk pass, to our Yurt Base Camp or to the Sary Tash village for overnight in guest house. |
| Day 10 | Sary Tash – Osh
Transfer to Osh, trip down to ancient Osh along the picturesque mountain road (150 km). Check in to the hotel. Sightseeing tour of Osh. We will have an opportunity to see famous Muslim Sulaiman Too (Solomon’s Mountain), that is situated in the city center and has four slopes and that is considered to be a pilgrimage place for local Muslims, because, according to the legend, biblical prophet Solomon (Suleiman in the Koran) was buried at the foot of it. At the top of the mountain (about 30 minutes climb) there is a flagpole and a mosque built by Babur, the founder of the Mogul Dynasty in India, who was a king of the Fergana Valley in the 15th century. In one of the caves of Suleiman Too there is the Suleiman Mountain Museum, where we can see different things that were found in the immediate vicinity of the mountain, photos of the mountain’s petrogliphs, that date back to different centuries. Visit the famous Osh Bazaar, a classical example of an eastern market, situated on the bank of the Ak-Bura River. Overnight. |
| Day 11 | Osh - Fergana (155 km) - Margilan (11 km) - Rishtan (51 km) - Kokand (34 km) - Tashkent (250 km) Transfer to “Dostyk” check point (7 km). Crossing Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. Transfer to Tashkent. En route visit of a manual silk production in “Yodgorlic” factory. In Rishtan, visiting of ceramics workshop of Rustam Usmanov. In Kokand, visiting of Hudoyar-Khan's palace. Arrival in Tashkent. Check in to the hotel. |
| Day 12 | Tashkent Half day sightseeing in Tashkent including Amir Temur Square, Independence Square, Old City part of Tashkent with Khast-Imom Complex and Chor-Su bazaar, Applied Arts Museum. Lunch. After lunch transfer to airport. Departure. |
