Khorezm pilaf ( chalov )

If you wish to devote to cooking a meal the whole day, for the sake of achieving the result, then this recipe is for you.

1kg of rice, 1kg of meat, 500 grams of carrot, 300 grams of butter, 300 grams of onions, salt and pepper.

Meat is cut into large pieces and fried in a hot fat. Then add a chopped in half rings onion and fry it together with meat until golden crust. Then pour a little water and allow it to boil.

A carrot is cut in slices 1 cm wide and 5 mm thick. Along with the salt and spices carrots is laid in the kazan, pour water enough to cover the contents, close the lid, reduce heat and simmer it all on low heat during 8-10 hours.

After filling the rice, the dish is cooked the way as usual pilaf is done.

Chalov is used to be served without mixing, spread on a large platter, layer by layer. First - rice, then meat and carrot.

If you do not have enough time, the meat can be replaced by chicken. Thus, the process will take only 2-3 hours.
